Modern Icelanders wear modern European clothing like jeans, hoodies, T shirts etc. Hoever, the traditional dress looks like the clothing the Icelanders wore in the 1800s. Men wore knit caps, dark knee breeches with long socks. They also wore a jacket had two rows of buttons. Women in the 1800s wore black skirts and jackets with black or white shirts. They also wore gold belts and white caps.
Iceland is famous for its knit wool sweaters. These sweaters usually have a fancy but traditional design in white or earth colours.

Icelandic music has a long tradition and even some of the old songs are sung today. Most of the Icelandic songs are either vibrant folk or pop. There are a lot of famous singers like Bjork and Emiliana Torrini. Most of Iceland's traditional songs are related to Nordic music. Most traditional songs are about love, sailor, masculinity and mythological creatures. The national anthem of Iceland is 'Lofsongur'. It was written in 1874. Icelandic popular music ranges from rock to punk to rock to solo ballad singers. Iceland Music Export is reponsible for distributing Icelandic music around the world.
